Growing Every Time You Try Something New—and Make Mistakes

SHOW DESCRIPTION

In our continuing series celebrating women of achievement —particularly in their later years—during Women’s History Month, 45 Forward spotlights the remarkable and still evolving life of Valentina Janek. Valentina is a high-octane leader who’s difficult to describe with a simple label. She’s a marketing consultant, career life coach, mid-life advocate, and senior information specialist—not to mention an author, contributing writer, actress and creator of a weekly TV show, Long Island Breakfast Club Show, devoted to an eclectic array of topics, information and humor to help people boost their business and personal success. Valentina will take us through her many life changes, including how she transitioned from a long career in corporate sector to the constant challenges and rewards of an entrepreneur (she’s not going back!).  She’ll describe the inspirational and engaging stories in her book, “From Fired to Freedom,” chronicling her experiences and those of many others who were given the “pink slip" but came out on the other side better and brighter. She’ll also talk about how she balances her current multiple consulting businesses with her support for community organizations, projects and people in need, from children to adults. And Valentina will tell us what life lessons she’s learned along the way, and how she has grown every time she’s tried something new: “Mistakes are OK but failure is not an option. I’m not a quitter.”
